Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has strengthened its market-leading global commodities practice with the hire of Anna Fomina in London.

Anna specialises in physical commodities disputes, with a particular focus on the oil, gas, petroleum, chemical products, and metals sectors. She joins HFW as a partner from Clyde & Co.

Leading international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills is strengthening its private capital offering and its presence in Europe with the opening of an office in Luxembourg, alongside the hire of three partners in the funds, M&A and tax teams within its Corporate practice.

The firm plans to open the Luxembourg office in early 2025, subject to approval by the Luxembourg Bar.
