PARTNER MOVES - Barrick Gold Deputy General Counsel Joins Paul Hastings in Washington D.C.

Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced that Jonathan Drimmer has joined the firm as a partner in the Investigations and White Collar Defense practice, based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Drimmer was Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Barrick Gold, the world’s largest gold mining company. Prior to Barrick Gold, Drimmer was a partner at Steptoe and Johnson LLP, where he practiced with Matt Herrington and Tom Best, who recently joined Paul Hastings.

The group includes of counsels Steven Small, Simon Bowden, and Benjamin Lancaster; and associates Alexandra Fraser, Kipling Milton, Richard Keys, and Eloise Verbeek. All will be part of Jones Day’s Tax Practice.

Global legal business DWF has announced the appointments of banking and finance partner, Paul Cesar (Paris) and EU competition partner, Christian Peeters (Brussels).

Paul joins from DLA Piper France and specialises in banking, finance and debt capital markets. He brings in-depth expertise across debt restructuring, finance as well as in various regulatory and derivatives issues. At DWF, Paul will lead the banking and finance practice in Paris.
