Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW“) advised Italian renewable energy holding company K.R.Energy S.p.A. (“K.R. Energy”)  on the preliminary agreement for its sale of  Idroelettrica Tosco Emiliana S.r.l. (“ITE”) to Energy Opportunity S.r.l.

ITE owns the Lucchio hydropower plant in the central Italian region of Tuscany as well as the Saltino site in Emilia-Romagna in the north east.

Herbert Smith Freehills advises Singtel on role in US$1.25 billion investment in Africa telecoms

Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has advised Singtel, Asia’s leading communications group, on its role in a US$1.25 billion investment in Airtel Africa Limited.

Singtel partnered with global investors Warburg Pincus, Temasek, SoftBank and others on the investment in Airtel Africa, the second-largest telecoms company on the continent.

Airtel Africa has over 94 million customers in 14 African countries, while over 11 million people use its mobile wallet service, Airtel Money.

Linklaters advised Globalworth on the acquisition of the Skylight and Lumen office buildings

Linklaters advised Globalworth Poland, the largest institutional office investor and landlord in the country, on the conclusion of a preliminary purchase agreement with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield for the Skylight and Lumen offices in Warsaw, part of the multifunctional Zlote Tarasy complex. The transaction was valued at EUR 190 mln and is Globalworth's largest acquisition to date.

(Tokio Marine) as Swiss counsel on the sale of its reinsurance subsidiaries Tokio Millennium Re AG and Tokio Millennium Re (UK) Limited for the total consideration of approximately USD 1.5 billion. Tokio Marine is a holding entity of Tokio Marine Group, a global insurance group operating extensively in the non-life and life insurance business, and financial and general business. Tokio Marine is listed on Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Niederer Kraft Frey advises CPH Chemie + Papier Holding AG on CHF 100m corporate bond placement

Niederer Kraft Frey advised CPH Chemie + Papier Holding AG (CPHN) on the placement of a CHF 100 million corporate bond on the Swiss capital market. The issue of the bond has a maturity of 5 years and an annual coupon of 2.0%. It is being coordinated by Credit Suisse. The transaction was closed on 12 October 2018.

The funds generated by this new bond issue will be used to refinance CPH’s current CHF 120 million 2014-2019 2.75% bond, which will be redeemed on 10 July 2019.
