WFW advises Global Risk Partners on acquisition of majority stake in Camberford Law

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised insurance intermediary group Global Risk Partners Ltd (“GRP”) on its acquisition of a majority stake in Camberford Law Plc (“Camberford Law”), the Bromley-based specialist MGA. The deal has received regulatory approval and the consideration is undisclosed.

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised Diversified Gas & Oil Plc (“DGO”) on its oversubscribed, conditional placing of new shares with existing and new institutional investors to raise US$189m to fund the acquisitions of:

    the entire share capital of Alliance Petroleum Corporation (“Alliance Petroleum”) for a cash consideration of US$95m; and

Hamburg – Airbus Defence and Space has sold Dornier Consulting International GmbH to private equity investor palero. The parties agreed not to disclose details of the purchase price.

A team led by CMS partner Dr Eckart Gottschalk advised Airbus Defence and Space on the legal aspects of the transaction. CMS has advised the company on several occasions in the past.

CMS advises technology startup uberall on round of financing

Berlin – uberall GmbH, a specialist in digital location marketing, has completed its series B round of financing, raising a total of around USD 25 million. The company is based in Berlin and San Francisco. New investor the HPE Growth Capital fund led the round. Existing investors Project A and United Internet added to their investment in the new round of financing. The transaction is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities.

Advising the Rio Tinto mining group on the sale of its Dunkirk plant to GFG Alliance

We advised the Anglo-Australian mining group Rio Tinto on the sale to GFG Alliance of its Dunkirk plant, Europe's largest aluminum smelter with an annual capacity of 280,000 tons, 570 employees and an annual turnover of approximately €500 million.

The purchaser is the Gupta Family Group (GFG Alliance) managed by the Anglo-Indian billionaire Sanjeev Gupta.
