Renewables tax equity and tax credit specialist Mark Christy joins Orrick’s leading renewables and energy transition team.

Mark brings deep experience providing tax advice in connection with solar, wind, and battery storage projects. Formerly a partner with Winston & Strawn, he joins Orrick’s Chicago office.

Mark’s arrival follows the hiring of tax authority John Eliason last fall in Washington, D.C. Earlier this year, the firm added Alejandra Garcia Earley, a rising star in tax equity project finance, also in Chicago.

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has continued its growth and expansion in the Spanish market with the hire of Emma Morales as partner.

With more than 20 years of experience in the legal sector, Emma will join Simmons in September, moving from the Madrid office of a London-headquartered international law firm, where she held an Of Counsel position.

International law firm Withers has grown its real estate team across Asia by welcoming partner Chau Hwei Lee to its Singapore office and promoting Akinari Nakano to partner in Tokyo. Chau Hwei joins the firm from Shook Lin & Bok, alongside associate Cheryl Lee.

Maloney joins from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she served as deputy assistant general counsel. She assumed her role in the general counsel’s office in 2018 and, prior to this, was a partner in the Corporate Department.
