Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, has added two new corporate partners to significantly enhance its Irish corporate team. Both partners have been recruited from the London offices of high-profile international law firms.

Garrett Hayes comes from McDermott Will & Emery and previously was a partner of Paul Hastings London for more than 10 years.

Garrett has spent his career to date in the UK, where he worked on many large international deals in multiple geographies.

DLA Piper is pleased to welcome Stephen Huffaker as a partner in the firm’s Product Liability, Mass Torts & Class Actions Practice. He will be based in the Austin office.

Huffaker’s practice focuses on pharmaceutical and medical device product liability litigation, with an emphasis on mass tort coordination and strategy, early assessment and resolution of cases, group settlement administration, litigation risk strategy and fact and expert witness development and discovery.

DLA Piper, has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Bradley as partner in the firm’s Finance practice group, based in Dublin. She will join January 2025.

Global law firm Hogan Lovells announces a series of strategic hires in Germany boosting its global Private Equity practice. 

Dr. David Huthmacher, previously Kirkland & Ellis, will join the firm in the next few months alongside Dr. Jan Philipp Feigen and Dr. Maximilian Menges who come from Ernst & Young Law. All three partners will become part of the firm’s Private Equity and Funds practice area and will be based in the Munich and Hamburg offices respectively. 

International law firm, Trowers & Hamlins, has continued to bolster its growing Private Wealth team with the addition of Partner Simon Gibb. 

Simon specialises in advising UK and international individuals, families, trustees and family offices on issues related to UK tax, HMRC audits, UK and international disclosure regimes and family governance matters.

Simon has been recognised as a ‘Top 35 under 35’ Private Client practitioner four times by ePrivateclient.

International law firm Gowling WLG has strengthened its multi-disciplinary Energy Transition team with the appointment of Will Glover as a corporate partner in London.

Will is an experienced corporate lawyer focused on the energy transition sector and also has a strong background in the development and financing of large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.

He joins the firm from Eversheds Sutherland, where he was a principal associate. He previously trained at and qualified into the Projects team at Ashurst.

Global law firm DLA Piper has announced the appointment of Simon Persoff as a partner in its global data protection, privacy and cybersecurity practice.

Simon joins the firm's London office from Clifford Chance, where he was a partner and co-head of its UK data protection and cybersecurity practice, and executive co-sponsor of its Enable affinity network. Prior to this, Simon was a Senior Consultant in DLA Piper's data protection, privacy and cybersecurity team.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (Freshfields) announced that Kevin Yingling has joined the firm’s antitrust practice, based in the Washington DC office. A well-known antitrust lawyer in the U.S. tech sector with more than 25 years of experience, Kevin will focus his practice on competition law including merger control, antitrust investigations and counseling.

Kevin joins Freshfields from Google where he spent the last 15 years. Prior to his experience working in-house, Kevin served in the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice and in private practice.

Bracewell announced that labor and employment lawyer Brian G. Patterson has joined the firm as a partner in the Houston office. Patterson joins Bracewell from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where he was a partner in the labor and employment group.

Global law firm Clifford Chance has hired Om Pandya as a Capital Markets partner in Houston. Pandya, who joins from Latham & Watkins, has extensive experience advising issuers, private equity sponsors and financial institutions in registered and unregistered securities offerings including IPOs, SPAC transactions, high yield debt, sustainability-linked debt, equity-linked products, acquisition finance, complex liability management and both in-court and out-of-court restructurings.
