PARTNER MOVES - Premier technology and life sciences team joins Goodwin in Boston

Global law firm Goodwin announced that a leading team of five technology and life sciences partners have joined the firm in its Boston office.

Pat Mitchell, Michael McGrail, Giselle Rivers, Harley Brown have joined the Technology practice, and Josh Rottner has joined the Life Science practice. All five partners have practiced together as a team for over a decade.

Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced the arrival of partner Alan Marcuis to the firm’s Labor & Employment department. Marcuis joins Seyfarth from Hunton Andrews Kurth, where he was a partner in the Labor & Employment law practice and served as co-head of the Unfair Competition & Information Task Force focusing on matters involving unfair competition and employee raiding, labor management relations and labor litigation and complex employment litigation.

PARTNER MOVES - Cooley strengthens business restructuring practice with key litigation hire in New York

Daniel Shamah has joined Cooley’s New York office as a partner in the firm’s expanding business restructuring practice and global litigation department. He joins from O’Melveny & Myers, where he was a partner in the restructuring group and served as co-chair of the firm’s bankruptcy litigation practice. Shamah is widely recognized as one of the top restructuring attorneys in the US, known for his experience with restructuring and insolvency matters, as well as related complex commercial litigation, especially among leading financial institutions.

PARTNER MOVES - Paul, Weiss expands European antitrust capabilities

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced that Richard Pepper and Ross Ferguson will be joining the firm’s Antitrust practice in Europe. Pepper will split his time between the firm’s London office and Brussels and Ferguson will be resident in Brussels. Pepper and Ferguson will advise clients on all aspects of EU and UK merger control and antitrust regulation; their move follows that of leading antitrust advisors Nicole Kar and Annie Herdman.

PARTNER MOVES - Real estate and litigation teams join Hill Dickinson’s Birmingham office

International commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has welcomed a Real Estate team and a Real Estate Litigation team to its new Birmingham office. The news follows the opening of the firm’s Midlands base in February this year. 

The two new teams will join Hill Dickinson’s five-strong Birmingham corporate team, who spearheaded the firm’s new office, joining from Irwin Mitchell. The team currently occupies a 2500 sq ft office, located in the Grade II-listed Louisa Ryland House.
