International law firm Bird & Bird appoints rising star and dual qualified finance lawyer Mirja Sikander as partner in Stockholm. Mirja will be heading up the Swedish Finance & Financial Regulation practice in Stockholm, and will be joined by newly recruited Senior Associate Eleonora Pavliouk who has a substantial background in fintech and financial regulation, as well as Bird & Bird Associate (Finance & Financial Regulation) Julia Klingberg.

A&O has announced the appointment of Pien Kerckhaert as financial regulatory partner in its ICM practice group. Kerckhaert joins from law firm Dentons, which she joined in 2020 as a financial regulatory partner in the Banking & Finance practice group. Her arrival significantly enhances A&O’s financial regulatory practice and bolsters the EU financial regulatory offering. 

DLA Piper announces the appointment of Ciarán Londra as a partner in its Real Estate practice based in Singapore. He joins from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.

Ciarán focuses on advising Asian based clients with their outbound real estate investments primarily into the UK, US, French and German markets. He has experience in a broad range of Real Estate matters with a particular emphasis on investment, development, corporate and real estate finance transactions.

Leading international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has hired Peter Dalton as a Partner in the firm's global cyber and data security team and IP/technology practices, based in London.

Peter re-joins Herbert Smith Freehills, having previously worked at the firm as a Senior Associate in the IP and cyber practices, before joining Stephenson Harwood as a Partner, where he co-led the technology disputes and cyber practice and operated as the lead partner for cyber advisory and incident response.

Noah Carr joins from Latham & Watkins’ Tokyo office and has also worked as a partner at Morrison & Foerster in the city. He advises on complex public and private acquisitions, carve outs, private equity and growth capital investments, joint ventures and strategic alliances, serving a variety of Japanese corporates and investors as well as international financial sponsors. He has over a decade of experience in Japan.
