Leading law firm Blake Morgan has appointed Thomas Middlehurst as a new partner to head up the firm’s contentious trusts and estate team.

Thomas has a wealth of experience across all areas of private wealth and succession disputes. Since being called to the Bar and qualifying as a solicitor in 2008 he has held positions at firms including Moore Barlow, DAC Beachcroft, and DMH Stallard (formerly AWB Partnership). In his previous role he was at Moore Barlow – where he became the firm’s youngest partner in 2015.

Alexander comes from a position as a partner in Deloitte Advokatfirma AS, where he was head of the tax department for twelve years. He has previously worked in Selmer and in EY.

In CMS Kluge, Alexander will contribute to the investment in tax and duty in light of the firm's association with the global law firm CMS. He will also contribute to the firm's further investment in corporate property, with a particular focus on property development.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced the appointment of capital markets partner Hamed Afzal in its Dubai office.

Hamed, who joins from Akin Gump, is an English-qualified capital markets lawyer with broad experience spanning debt and equity capital markets, and public company matters. 

International law firm Clifford Chance expands its German IP practice led by Claudia Milbradt with two renowned IP lawyers: On 1 January 2023 Tobias J. Hessel and Stefan Richter will join the firm in the Düsseldorf office and further strengthen the German and European IP practice with their specialist expertise and market experience. Both come from the European IP boutique HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER. Counsel Thomas Misgaiski will join them.

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP announced the addition of IP trial attorney Aliza George Carrano as a partner based in the Washington, DC office and member of the Intellectual Property and Litigation Departments, and Technology Patent Litigation Practice. She is the sixth partner to join the Firm’s IP Department since last year, following other additions in Washington, DC, San Francisco and New York spanning IP and patent litigation as well as transactional capabilities.
