PARTNER MOVES - DWF appoints key partner to growing Insurance practice

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has appointed Jonathan Drake, former Head of Insurance at Womble Bond Dickinson, as a Partner to head up DWF's rapidly expanding non-contentious insurance advisory practice.

Jonathan Drake joins DWF's London office, having worked in the City for over 30 years in both private practice, including stints at Clyde & Co, Dentons and Ashurst, and as in-house General Counsel for over 10 years within the insurance industry.

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has appointed three new partners to its corporate teams in London and Leeds.

Wendy Harrison and Jonathan Procter, formerly senior corporate partners at DLA Piper and Alexis Karim from BCLP, are joining the UK corporate practice.

Wendy has vast experience in international M&A transactions with a particular specialism in the hospitality and leisure sector. A lawyer for 30 years, she also has significant experience of private equity transactions acting either for investors or management.

Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has continued to expand its fast-growing Greater China transactional practice with the hire of senior partner Brinton Scott and of counsel Danielle Peng in Shanghai.

Brinton joins HFW from Winston & Strawn, where he was Shanghai Managing Partner, while Danielle was Legal Senior Director, Asia Pacific, at US automotive systems and components company Cooper Standard. Brinton was previously Shanghai Managing Partner and China practice head at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (now Clyde & Co).

DAVID BERRY RE-JOINS AG AS A PARTNER FROM STEPHENSON HARWOOD ON 1 MAY, AND BRINGS A SPECIFIC FOCUS ON LARGE TECHNOLOGY AND OUTSOURCING PROJECTS.

He has acted on behalf of both purchasers and suppliers of IT products and services, with a particular focus on those operating in the financial services, life sciences, retail and rail sectors. In recent years he has led on two rail franchise smart ticketing projects and a major software and licensing dispute.
