Global Law firm Shearman & Sterling announces the appointment of Sam Brodie as a Financial Restructuring & Insolvency partner in London. Sam’s arrival follows the recruitment of Alex Wood in September 2020 and four recent counsel and associates hires. It is part of the ongoing expansion of the firm’s European restructuring practice.

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Eugene Scalia will return as a partner to the firm’s Washington, D.C. office after serving as the 28th U.S. Secretary of Labor.  Scalia will again co-chair Gibson Dunn’s Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Group and will also serve as a Senior Member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group and Financial Institutions Practice Group.  He will continue representing clients in a broad range of regulatory, appellate, and labor and employment matters.

PARTNER MOVES - Hill Dickinson expands Hong Kong Dispute Resolution team with hire of partner Yvette Yu

Hill Dickinson Hong Kong is delighted to announce the arrival of Yvette Yu as the latest partner to join the firm’s growing Dispute Resolution team in Hong Kong.

Ms Yu’s hire is the latest move by the firm to drive forward the growth of its non-marine offering in Asia.

The Hong Kong office has significantly expanded its disputes and commercial litigation and insolvency practice in the past 12 months and estimates that these areas of work now account for three-quarters of all client instructions in Hong Kong.

PARTNER MOVES - Loyens & Loeff Belgium strengthens its Corporate/M&A practice with the arrival of Thomas Lenné as new partner

Thomas Lenné has joined Loyens & Loeff in Belgium as partner on 8 March 2021. He will be the fourth partner in the Corporate/M&A practice group in Brussels, next to Grégoire Jakhian, Robrecht Coppens and Wim Vande Velde, where he will further strengthen our corporate capabilities in Belgium. Thomas is joined by associate Florence Gypens, who has been working with him for several years.

Allen & Overy announced that Jennifer L. Wnek joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s global Projects, Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure practice.

Jennifer joined Allen & Overy from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, making her the seventh partner addition to A&O’s Projects, Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure team in the U.S. In her role as partner, she will continue to counsel clients leveraging her deep expertise in the energy sector on engagements including acquisitions, dispositions, financing and joint venture transactions.
