PARTNER MOVES - Ashurst strengthens global disputes practice with new Sydney hire

International law firm Ashurst has strengthened its global disputes practice, welcoming Rani John as a new partner in the Sydney office.

Rani has over 15 years' experience as a partner representing banking and large corporate clients across a range of regulatory investigations and proceedings, most recently as head of the Sydney disputes team at DLA Piper, and previously at Gilbert + Tobin for 11 years.

WilmerHale is pleased to announce that James L. Quarles is rejoining the firm as a partner after serving in the Special Counsel’s Office in the US Department of Justice.

Mr. Quarles left the firm in 2017 to join Robert S. Mueller III and Aaron M. Zebley when Mr. Mueller was appointed special counsel. Messrs. Mueller and Zebley are also rejoining the firm.

WilmerHale is pleased to announce that Aaron M. Zebley is rejoining the firm as a partner after serving in the Special Counsel’s Office in the US Department of Justice.

Mr. Zebley left the firm in 2017 to join Robert S. Mueller III and James L. Quarles when Mr. Mueller was appointed special counsel. Messrs. Mueller and Quarles are also rejoining the firm. Mr. Zebley served as deputy special counsel and was responsible for day-to-day oversight of the investigations conducted by the office.
