The global law firm Jones Day announces that Amy Pandit and Tarek Abdalla have joined the Firm's Pittsburgh Office as partners in its Banking, Finance & Securities, and Business & Tort Litigation practices, respectively.

Ms. Pandit has more than 20 years' experience advising and representing publicly traded companies in matters relating to corporate governance, federal securities law, and executive compensation.

Morgan Lewis continues its focus on global depth of capabilities by adding a team of investment management, tax, and corporate lawyers in Washington, DC, and in Abu Dhabi, where the firm will open an office on March 1 as its 31st office worldwide, adding to the firm’s existing strengths in Dubai. All joining from the same global law firm, partner Courtney Nowell will lead a seven-lawyer, 10-person team in Washington, DC, and partner Bill Nash will lead an eight-lawyer, 21-person team in Abu Dhabi.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) has strengthened its English law finance capabilities with the hire of Anouschka Zagorski as its head of English law finance. In this role, Anouschka will be responsible for Freshfields' English law advice across banking, structured finance and restructuring, with a special focus on the CEE region (Central and Eastern Europe). The native-born German will lead the English finance law team from the Vienna office.
 

PARTNER MOVES - Withers grows reputation and media team with hire of Jo Sanders

Withers has hired noted reputation and privacy lawyer Jo Sanders as the head of its London media and reputation team. Jo joins the firm from Harbottle & Lewis.

Jo has worked in media law for 15 years, and previously also worked as a journalist and public relations consultant, giving her excellent all-round experience in the field. She has acted for businesses and individuals in relation to press, broadcast and online content and advised dozens of victims of the phone hacking scandal.
