Jones Day is advising DV4 Ltd (“DV4”), which is advised by Delancey Real Estate Asset Management Ltd, on the sale of DV4's interests in Get Living, the UK’s leading privately backed residential company, to Delancey Oxford Residential (“DOOR”) a new co-investment platform with initial capital commitments of £600 million; the establishment of DOOR, which includes the joint venture between DV4 and Oxford Properties; and on real estate matters related to the London scheme, Elephant Central in Elephant and Castle which is part of the Get Living portfolio.

London – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that it is advising Monaco Telecom on its agreement with MTN to acquire the entire issued share capital of MTN Cyprus for net sale proceeds of €260 million.  MTN Cyprus is the fastest growing mobile and fixed operator in Cyprus with more than 400,000 customers and 2017 revenues of €123 million.

CHICAGO – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery has announced the arrival of all-star intellectual property lawyer Christina Martini as partner in the Chicago office. Martini joins from DLA Piper, where she practiced for nearly 25 years. She was recently named by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of Chicago’s Most Influential Minority Lawyers.

Corporate attorney Scott Ellis has joined the Dallas office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as a shareholder. Greenberg Traurig has more than 125 attorneys in Texas and is tactically expanding their presence in the state; serving clients from offices in Austin, Dallas and Houston. Previously, Ellis was with Winstead as a shareholder.

Morgan Lewis has announced that it will soon welcome Kenneth Polite, a distinguished litigator and former US Attorney whose career has focused on government investigations and compliance, to its global disputes and investigations team. Mr. Polite will join Morgan Lewis on August 20 as a partner residing in the firm’s Philadelphia and New York offices.

In what is a significant move for the firm’s global finance practice, Pillsbury has recruited respected leveraged finance lawyers Michael E. Michetti and Joel M. Simon as partners in New York. Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Yan Xuan, the former President of Nielsen Greater China, as a partner to lead its International Public Policy Practice in China.

Mr. Yan is an accomplished US lawyer who has gained a reputation as a distinguished business leader, effective government lobbyist and respected US and China policy expert. He brings more than 25 years’ experience in senior leadership roles at global companies such as Qualcomm, Oracle, Microsoft and AT&T. In 2011 he joined Nielsen, where he led its overall business in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau.

DLA Piper has announced that Eric Hagen has joined the firm's Intellectual Property and Technology practice as a partner in Los Angeles.

Hagen, who will be a member of the Patent Litigation subgroup of the IPT practice, represents companies in complex commercial disputes involving patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition claims and related matters. He has successfully represented clients in a number of industries, including life sciences, smartphone, disk drive, semiconductor, advertising, financial services, apparel, sports and entertainment.

The Paris office of international law firm Simmons & Simmons has announced the arrival of a new head of tax, Chloë Nessim, who joined the firm on Monday 9 July. This appointment makes Chloë the eighth female partner of 22 in the firm’s Paris office. This is the fourth lateral partner recruitment since the beginning of the year for Simmons & Simmons in Paris.
