Elvis Martinez joins the Managua office as a Litigation partner. Elvis is a lawyer with extensive experience in that area who will strengthen the Firm's offering to our clients.

Elvis Martinez joins the Dentons Managua office along with associates María José Mendoza who specializes in Tax Law and Ana Belén Tiffer who joins the Corporate practice. These investments in talent reflect the growing demand from clients for Dentons' legal advice in litigation, tax and corporate matters in Managua and in the Latin American and Caribbean region.

PARTNER MOVES - Linklaters bolsters corporate practice in Hong Kong SAR with hire of Roger Cheng

Linklaters announced the hire of Roger Cheng as partner in the firm’s Hong Kong SAR corporate practice.

Roger joins from the Securities and Futures Commission (“SFC”) where he was Senior Director and the Head of the Takeovers Team. Prior to joining the SFC in 2018, he was a Corporate partner at Slaughter and May.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has announced that James Duncan, a longstanding derivatives and structured products lawyer, will join the firm’s global transactions practice as a partner in London.

Duncan joins Freshfields from Shearman & Sterling, where he served as a partner for over a decade. He has significant experience advising on cross-border transactions, including buy-side and sell-side, strategic equity solutions and equity financings.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer announced that Damian P. Ridealgh has joined the firm’s US finance practice in New York focusing on capital solutions.

Ridealgh advises private capital clients, including credit funds, private equity and other financial institutions, on capital solutions, special situations and liability management transactions. He also advises private capital clients on complex US and European financings covering acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, restructurings, REIT and fund financings and asset-based lending.

Garrigues has brought onboard the lawyer Ignacio Campino at its Santiago de Chile office as a partner in the Tax Department. Ignacio Campino has nearly 20 years’ experience advising Chilean and international enterprises on tax and asset-related matters.

Before joining Garrigues, Ignacio Campino worked at several renowned firms in Chile, always focused on providing tax and asset-related advice to companies. He is a graduate of Pontifica Universidad Católica de Chile and holds an LL.M in Taxes from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Watford has joined the firm as a partner in the litigation department after serving as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit for 11 years. PARTNER MOVES - Reed Smith adds partner-counsel duo to life sciences health industry practice

Reed Smith announced that Brian Bewley is joining the firm as a partner and Kaitlyn Dunn as counsel in its Life Sciences Health Industry Group. Formerly with Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, the duo served previously in the Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (HHS OIG). Bewley will work from the firm’s D.C. office, while Dunn will be based in Chicago. The team has worked together for more than five years.
