Andrew has an extensive background in energy law, with an emphasis on complex corporate and commercial transactions. His practice encompasses acquisitions and divestitures, as well as secured lending, commodity and financial transactions. He also has significant experience advising clients on joint venture, shareholder and partnership agreements; tax reorganizations; incorporations and goods and services agreements.

PARTNER MOVES - McDermott bolsters its private equity capabilities with arrival of partner Guillaume Panuel and team in Paris

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery announced the appointment of partner Guillaume Panuel and a team of associates including Houda Bourrich, Agathe Marcelin and Bréa Kamtcheu, into its Private Equity practice in France.

The team adds deep fund structuring experience to the Firm’s Paris office and will develop secondary transactions capabilities in collaboration with McDermott’s existing Private Equity team comprising 10 partners and nearly 50 lawyers in Paris.

Kate joins Mills & Reeve after 14 years at Eversheds Sutherland where she has led the competition, EU and trade practice in the regions across the UK since 2016. Kate will be based in the Leeds office and will develop the firm’s competition law offering to help corporate clients pursue their growth strategies.

Eduardo Medina Zapata, a leading tax lawyer with more than 25 years of experience, joins as a shareholder from the Jáuregui y Del Valle law firm. Erika Baez Elizondo, an accountant and financial specialist who previously worked at Chevez, Ruiz, Zamarripa y Cía, S.C. for more than 15 years as a tax consultant, is joining as a local partner in the Mexico City office and will work as a senior tax advisor.

PARTNER MOVES - Richard Burger joins WilmerHale in London as white collar defence partner

WilmerHale is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Burger as a partner in the firm’s UK white collar defence and investigations practice, effective January 2023.

Burger joins from another international law firm where he was co-head of the Corporate Investigations practice. At WilmerHale, he will advise both corporates and senior executives in their defence of regulatory investigations/prosecutions, as well as on governance, close supervisory enquiries, and non-financial misconduct across multiple jurisdictions.
