Trial-tested business litigation attorney Kristin Walker-Probst has joined Womble Bond Dickinson’s Orange County office.

In 20 years as a business litigation attorney, Walker-Probst has tried more than 100 cases, including more than 60 jury trials. Her litigation experience includes financial services litigation, product liability and personal injury defense, labor and employment litigation, and general business disputes. Walker-Probst works with clients throughout the litigation lifecycle, from pre-litigation planning and case workup to post-trial.

Julian Richards has joined the firm as a partner from BDB Pitmans and brings ten years’ experience as a pensions lawyer. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Julian spent 15 years as an officer at the trade union Amicus (now Unite), advising exclusively on pensions issues.

Shoosmiths partner and Head of Pensions David Thompson said Julian had first-rate experience of advising both employer and trustee clients on all aspects of pensions law and practice. Paul W. Connell, the former Deputy Attorney General and Senior Counsel for the Wisconsin Department of Justice, joins Reed Smith as a partner, and Aaron R. Lancaster, former counsel at Baker Hostetler, joins as counsel. Both are resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office, and Connell will also spend time in the Chicago office.

LONDON – Reed Smith announced that restructuring and insolvency lawyer Mandip Englund has joined its Financial Industry Group (FIG) as a partner in London. Mandip has acted on a number of high profile cross-border insolvencies and restructurings and her experience includes project financings and distressed work for companies, financial stakeholders, equity sponsors, advisory firms, creditors and insolvency practitioners in relation to strategy, transactions and contentious matters.

Paris – Mayer Brown announced the arrival of Alexandre Poupard, who joins the firm’s Real Estate practice in Paris as a partner. Alexandre, who was formerly a partner at Dentons, joins with a team of two associates.

International law firm Pinsent Masons has announced the appointment of Naoise Harnett who will be joining as a Corporate Financial Services partner in its Dublin office in the summer.
