Cooley is expanding its global capabilities with the launch of a Brussels office, marking the firm’s first entry into continental Europe and its 14th location worldwide. Competition lawyer Alexander Israel joins from the leading German law firm Noerr LLP, where he helped to set up its Brussels office. Cooley’s expansion in Europe follows the opening of its multi-award-winning London office in 2015.

Clifford Chance advises BlackRock on acquisition of office block Hanse Atrium in Hamburg

Clifford Chance has advised asset manager BlackRock on the acquisition of the office complex Hanse Atrium in Hamburg. The complex was purchased by BlackRock Eurozone Core Property Fund. The eight-storey building in the southern part of the Hamburg City area has been awarded a gold certificate by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and has an area of around 15,700 m².

Dentons advises Sev.en Energy on strategic acquisition of 50% stake in InterGen

Dentons has advised prominent Czech industrial player Sev.en Energy on an agreement to acquire a 50 percent stake in the multinational energy company, InterGen N.V. from the Canadian Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. The transaction is expected to close in the next few months, subject to the approval of the relevant EU and Australian authorities.
 
Sev.en Energy currently operates two lignite coalmines and four coal-fired power plant units in the Czech Republic and employs more than 3,200 people.

International law firm Ashurst is advising Kookaburra Sport Pty Ltd ('Kookaburra') on the acquisition of the assets and business of Burley Sekem Pty Ltd ('Burley-Sekem').
 
Kookaburra is a closely held proprietary company which manufactures and retails sporting goods and apparel in Australia, including cricket balls for one-day and international test cricket..
 
The Ashurst team was led by corporate partner Elspeth Arnold, assisted by lawyers James McGhie, Lizzie Bird and Stephanie Mattei.

Linklaters advises on £635m wind farm transaction

Linklaters has advised Greencoat Capital LLP on its acquisition of a 49.9% stake in the Stronelairg and Dunmaglass onshore wind farms from SSE. The combined stake of the wind farms equates to 160.6MW of generation capacity and the total consideration for the stake was £635m. 
 
The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of March 2019. 
 
Stronelairg wind farm is located near Fort Augustus, Scotland, and has an installed generating capacity of 228MW.

Schulte Advises Starboard Value in Investment in Papa John’s International Inc.
