DLA Piper has announced that Tami Howie will join the firm's Corporate practice as a partner in Washington, DC.

Howie advises technology, life science and medical device companies in emerging growth and venture capital, private equity and M&A matters. She joins DLA Piper from the Maryland Technology Council, the state's largest technology trade association supporting biotechnology and innovation in the state of Maryland, where she was CEO.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised a consortium of lenders on a Multi-Lateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) financing. The lenders comprise AKA Bank, Citibank, Credit Agricole CIB, ING, LBBW, Santander and Soc Gen.

The MIGA guarantee is being issued under the non-honoring of a sovereign financial obligation scheme. The financing will be used by the borrower Southern Gas Corridor CJSC, in respect of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP). The pipeline is estimated to be 1,850km long.

DLA Piper has advised Experian, the Dublin-based global information services company, as lead investor, and responsAbility Investments AG (rAp) and Deutsche Investitions - und Entwicklungsgesellschaft (DEG), as other investors, on the US$28 million Series C investment in Singapore-based C88 Financial Technologies Group (C88). This is one of the largest venture capital Series C fintech rounds in Southeast Asia.

Baker McKenzie has advised NovaWind, the division of State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom responsible for Russia’s renewable energy program, on its joint venture with Dutch wind turbine manufacturer Lagerwey.

The joint venture, Red Wind, is responsible for the marketing, distribution, and after-sale support of Lagerwey wind turbines. Red Wind also plans to localize the manufacturing of wind turbines at NovaWind's facilities in Russia and intends to supply 400 turbines to wind parks by 2022.
