PARTNER MOVES - TLT expands corporate tax team with new partner appointment

Law firm TLT has appointed Emma Bradley, one of the leading tax lawyers in the South West and specialising in tax disputes, as a partner in its UK-wide corporate and incentives tax team.

The appointment is part of the firm’s strategic growth of its tax practice, to further enhance the comprehensive legal support and tax advisory service provided to clients on complex commercial transactions and business structures.

PARTNER MOVES - Fried Frank strengthens finance practice in London with leading partner, Chris Barron

Fried Frank announced that Chris Barron has joined the firm as a partner in the Finance Practice in London. He arrives from the London office of Dickson Minto, where he served as head of the banking and finance team. 

Barron advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, as well as privately owned businesses, on leveraged finance transactions, including UK-based and cross-border loan and bank/bond deals. He also advises on general corporate lending and restructuring transactions.

National law firm Weightmans has welcomed Orla Scanlan and Nicola Howlett to its growing police team

Previously head of the national police team and the Misfeasance Practice Group lead at BLM (now Clyde & Co), Orla represents police forces and their insurers across the UK. She joins Weightmans London office but will work across the UK. She is joined by Nicola Howlett, solicitor and expert in defending civil actions against police forces who has also joined the firm from Clyde & Co.

Arriving from Verizon, where she served as chief ESG officer and senior vice president of corporate governance, Sasfai has extensive experience developing robust ESG strategies and driving forward a wide range of ESG initiatives – from corporate governance and board affairs to ESG reporting and shareholder engagement issues and more. As a member of the firm’s public companies group, Sasfai will advise public and private companies, investment funds, and their boards.
