Womble Bond Dickinson announced that Joseph A. Patella has joined the firm’s Business Litigation group as a partner in New York. 

Patella represents clients in complex commercial litigation with a focus on financial services, energy, insurance, and the art world. He has significant experience in federal and state trial courts and arbitration proceedings and advises corporate clients on managing and controlling litigation risks, including oversight and internal investigations.

Addleshaw Goddard (AG) has appointed Francis Tyrrell as a partner in its planning & infrastructure consenting team.

Francis covers all forms of infrastructure consenting and operation, with particular experience in the ports, urban transit and airports sectors. He also advises clients on government affairs, parliamentary and legislative processes and public law.

He joins the firm from Pinsent Masons where he advised on some of the UK's largest infrastructure projects.

Kristina Cornish is a patent attorney and a biotechnology and pharmaceutical sciences specialist with over 30 years’ experience. A prominent figure in the life sciences IP world, Kristina specialises in developing smart and progressive patent strategies. She joins from Kilburn & Strode.

PARTNER MOVES - Clyde & Co re-hires Martin Paxton to strengthen Manchester professional indemnity practice

Clyde & Co has announced the hire of Martin Paxton as a partner in its Manchester Insurance, Financial & Professional Disputes (IFPD) practice. Martin focuses on Professional Indemnity (PI) work handling high-value, complex claims for solicitors, traditional and miscellaneous professionals and construction professionals.

Martin previously worked at Clyde & Co between 2011 and 2016, having joined the firm through its merger with Barlow Lyde & Gilbert. Since then, Martin has been a partner at DAC Beachcroft.

PARTNER MOVES - DLA Piper appoints new Brisbane partner

DLA Piper has confirmed the appointment of Jack Brumpton who has rejoined DLA Piper as a Partner in the Finance, Projects & Restructuring (FP&R) practice.

Jack will be returning from renewable energy company Sun Cable where he was Senior Legal Counsel. Prior to that Jack had been Special Counsel at DLA Piper in Brisbane.

“Jack’s most recent work at Sun Cable and the firm’s focus on the energy and resources sector meant he was an outstanding candidate for partner,” said Amber Matthews, Australia Managing Partner, DLA Piper.
