Squire Patton Boggs has appointed private equity lawyer Sascha Konwalski as partner in its Corporate Practice in Frankfurt. Mr. Konwalski, who joins from Linklaters in Frankfurt, is the eighth private equity related senior appointment at Squire Patton Boggs in Europe since summer 2021 and his arrival marks a significant commitment to expand private equity and corporate work in Germany.

Herbert Smith Freehills is pleased to welcome partner Alice Molan to its market-leading Financial Services Regulatory practice in Melbourne. 

Joining the firm on 10 October 2022, Alice will advise clients in the banking, non-bank lending, payments and fintech sectors on Australian and offshore banking regulatory matters alongside partner Charlotte Henry and senior consultant Tony Coburn.

Alice is relocating to her hometown of Melbourne from Hong Kong, where she was a partner at Walkers.

PARTNER MOVES - A&O to hire partner Matthew Johnson in Perth to co-lead its global mining sector

Allen & Overy has announced that corporate M&A expert Matthew Johnson will be joining in Perth as a partner to co-lead its Global Mining sector. Matthew is a well-established figure in the mining arena advising on mergers and acquisitions and securities law.

Matthew will join as a partner in the Asia Pacific Corporate practice and co-lead the Global Mining sector at A&O. Matthew picks up the reins to allow adequate timing and transition following the planned retirement of Geoff Simpson from the partnership.

Domhnall advises on multi-party litigation before all Irish courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union. He has extensive experience advising on commercial disputes across a range of sectors, with particular expertise in Life Sciences and Technology. He assists clients on a number of areas including regulatory investigations, intellectual property and product liability claims. He also advises on alternative dispute resolution processes.
