PARTNER MOVES - Katten UK adds new partner to insolvency and restructuring practice

Katten Muchin Rosenman UK LLP has announced the appointment of partner Sonya Van de Graaff to the firm's growing Insolvency and Restructuring practice in London.

She joins Katten from Avonhurst, where she was a partner. Previously, Van de Graaff spent a number of years as a partner at Morrison & Foerster (London) and, in the years leading up to the global financial crisis of 2008, she was a managing director at investment banking giant Bear Stearns where she focused on a broad range of business areas, including special situations investments and structured products.

Continuing its expansion in Texas, O’Melveny announced that it will open an office in Houston—its third new office in the state in just ten months. The office will be anchored by three transactional partners—Angela Olivarez, Steven V. Torello, and Ryan Cicero—who join the firm from Willkie Farr & Gallagher’s Houston office, and partner Monica Hwang, who joined O’Melveny in November. With these additions, O’Melveny will have a total of 47 lawyers in its Dallas, Austin, and Houston offices, including 20 partners.
