PARTNER MOVES - Leading Product Liability and Mass Torts Team Joins Dechert

In one of its largest lateral team acquisitions to date, Dechert LLP has added a 29-strong team of one of the premier U.S. product liability and mass torts litigation groups, including three additional new partners, nine counsel and six associates. The new lawyers join market-leaders Sheila Birnbaum, Mark Cheffo and Douglas Fleming, III, who started at Dechert in May.

KWM advises Bluescope on PPA to directly underwrite renewable generation

KWM has advised BlueScope on entering a power purchase agreement (PPA) with ESCO Pacific for the 133MWac Finley Solar Farm, the fifth major corporate PPA which KWM has recently advised on and which has been announced to the market.
 
ESCO Pacific will invest $250 million dollars into the project, which will comprise of approximately 500,000 solar panels – generating energy for approximately 60,000 homes.
 

Ashurst advises banks on one billion Euro refinancing of Scout24

Ashurst advised an international banking syndicate led by UniCredit Bank AG (UniCredit) and ABN Amro Bank N.V. (ABN Amro) on the granting of a € 1bn loan to Scout24 Group (Scout24). The new credit facility is intended for the refinancing of an existing syndicated financing of € 800m granted by the end of 2016 as well as for the financing of future acquisitions of the group, an operator of online marketplaces across Europe such as ImmobilienScout24 and AutoScout24.

BCLP advises King’s Cross on 600,000 square foot pre-let to Facebook

International law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) has advised longstanding client King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership (KCCLP) on a pre-let to Facebook, which will take leases of 611,000 sq ft of office space at King’s Cross. Around 15% of the total commercial space at King’s Cross (4m sq ft) will be let in a single deal, marking the move as one of the biggest commercial deals in London this decade.
