King & Spalding announced that Matt Hanson has rejoined the firm as a partner in its Special Matters and Government Investigations practice group. He is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office.

Hanson returns to the firm after nearly three years at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Legislative Affairs, where he most recently served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General. While in this role, Hanson handled numerous legislative matters in areas including national security and intelligence, technology, financial services, and healthcare and drug policy.

Jessica Sievert, a former trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), has joined Holland & Knight's North Florida Litigation Practice Group as a partner in Jacksonville, Florida.

Haynes Boone is delighted to welcome Real Estate Finance Partner Moni Sarmadi back to the firm’s New York office. Sarmadi returns to Haynes Boone after serving as a vice president on the real estate investment team at Goldman Sachs for three years.

Sarmadi was previously an associate at Haynes Boone for six years, where he focused on commercial real estate lending and worked closely with institutional lenders on mortgage and mezzanine financings. His practice centers on the structuring and origination of complex real estate loans, particularly on behalf of fund and bank clients.

Leading global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has hired Alison Hardy as the head of its Real Estate Dispute Resolution practice based in London.

Alison will join from Ashurst where she currently leads their Real Estate Dispute Resolution practice. Her practice spans all areas of commercial real estate disputes, including development issues, energy and infrastructure matters, investment disputes and distressed real estate. She has a particular focus on development disputes, property insolvency and joint venture disputes.
